A genomic startup in Hong Kong was seeking a government grant to expand its research and services. The company’s technology has been already well-established in prenatal DNA analysis for detecting known genetic diseases. They planned to use the funding to extend their analysis to specific blood cell-related conditions. While these conditions might not be life-threatening, early detection would enable parents to plan for the necessary medical and financial support.
We were brought in to review the proposal and provide insights into what the assessment panel would be looking for to recommend the project for funding. After multiple videoconferences and rounds of proposal revisions, we enhanced the innovative components and refined the budget planning. As a result, the proposal has been shortlisted for funding consideration.
